Development plans are once again moving for Centreville's Trinity Centre. Representing the project's developer, KSI Services Inc., attorney Keith Martin said Tuesday that he hopes to provide details at the April 16 meeting of the West Fairfax County Citizens Association (WFCCA) Land-Use Committee.
He said KSI is filing a Final Development Plan amendment for this mixed-used project bounded by I-66 and Routes 28 and 29. The plan includes offices, some retail businesses and three restaurants to join the Marriott hotel and Life Time Fitness center already built there.
"It was originally approved for 1.8 million square feet of commercial space, but we trimmed it back to half of that," said Martin. "But KSI has been so impressed with the response that it wants to add back the density it took away."
He said KSI would like to add two, 10-story office buildings, with structural parking, to frame the site's central lake. "They're looking at the future," said Martin: "They see it as a prime location, two to three years from now."
He also noted that two restaurant deals for Trinity Centre should be signed by the end of this month. He declined to name the specific restaurants, but indicated that one would serve Tex-Mex food and the other would feature Italian cuisine.
