Town Hall Meeting

"A New Normalcy," a town hall meeting organized by Arlington's Community Resilience Project and the Center for the Advancement of Public Health of George Mason University, will be held at George Mason University's Law School, 3401 N. Fairfax Drive, from 5:30-9 p.m. on Monday, March 11. The free event will include a panel discussion and question and answer period on emergency preparedness, acculturation issues and impact, mental health responses, and press perspectives and information dissemination. Boot Camp for Seniors

An exercise and fitness program for seniors will run for eight weeks beginning Tuesday, March 12, at 8 a.m. at the Madison Senior Action Center, 3829 N. Staford St. It will be conducted by Kai Jones, Arlington County senior adult fitness instructor. The sessions will include a variety of exercises including free weights, walking, calisthenics and more. The class will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9 a.m. The cost is $50. Life Skills Workshop

"Coping with Domestic Violence" will help individuals find appropriate ways to deal with domestic violence, including hotlines, shelters and victim assistance, on Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. at Columbia Pike Library, 816 S. Walter Reed Drive. Call 703-228-7761.

The Arlington Center for Well-Being

The Center, at 3800 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 5, offers workshops throughout the year. Call 703-522-7710 to register and for fees:

* Inner Transformation. A weekly support group for people who want to look at personal issues that get in the way of healthy relationships. Requires a minimum six-week commitment on Sundays, at 5 p.m. Cost is $30 per session.

* Being Heard, Being Healed. This weekly group gives members a place to share their stories and experiences for a healing transformation. Thursdays, from 8-10 p.m.

* Developing and Enhancing Willpower. This is a workshop for those who can't stick to anything. Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m.-noon; Monday, March 18, from 6-8 p.m.; Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m.-noon and Monday, April 15, from 6-8 p.m.

* Goal Buddies. Join a group of people helping each other achieve personal goals. Meeting monthly. Next meeting is Monday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m.

* Sexual Secrets II. Share an honest and frank discussion on sex. Participants will have an opportunity to write questions anonymously for discussion, on Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

* Radical Honesty. Learn how to engage in a conversation with honesty and enhance your relationships, on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m.-noon.

* Managing Hormones. Explore the causes and treatments of menopausal symptoms and how to manage them safely and naturally. Forum takes place on Saturday, March 23, at 12:30 p.m. Fee is $10.

* Stress Reducing Diet. What you eat can induce or reduce stress. Learn foods and methods to prevent and overcome stress, on Saturday, March 30, at 12:30 p.m. Fee is $10.

Cesarean Awareness Group

The International Cesarean Awareness Network (ICAN) meets the third Wednesday of the month. The next meeting will be March 20, at 7 p.m. The nonprofit organization founded in 1982 works to lower the rate of unnecessary cesareans, supports vaginal birth after cesarean, and encourages birthing through education and advocacy. Grief Support Groups

Support for persons coping with grief is available through the Halquist Memorial Hospice Center at 4715 N. 15th St. A grief-education meeting is held on the third Thursday of each month, from 7-8:30 p.m. A drop-in grief support group takes place on the second, third and fourth Tuesday of each month, from 6:30-8 p.m. All meetings are held in the dining room of the facility. Stress Management

Individuals having difficulty managing stress related to the Sept. 11 events may seek free support through the Community Resilience Project. The group meets at 3033 Wilson Blvd. on Tuesdays, from 7-8 p.m. Call Molly at 703-228-4788 to register.

Hot-Line Volunteers Needed

The Arlington Department of Human Services' Violence Intervention Program is seeking volunteers to staff its 24-hour hot line. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed.
