The following local residents graduated from Brown University during ceremonies held on May 27:
Joshua David Green, son of Elizabeth Cobbs and Philip Green of Arlington, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in american civilization and Afro-American studies.
Rebecca Ann Yurek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Yurek of Arlington, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history of art and architecture.
Sarah Hartman McDer-mott, daughter of Frank and Laura McDermott of Arlington, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in urban studies.
Marymount University has promoted the following faculty members:
Dr. Susan B. Fay, promoted to professor of English, has taken the lead in revising the freshman writing program and developing technology-rich methods. Fay has been a Faculty member since 1980 and is an Arlington resident.
Dr. Michael J. Bolton, promoted to associate professor of criminal justice, developed the criminal justice program at Marymount and works with students to identify specialized areas of interest. Bolton has been a faculty member since 1995.
