Loudoun Cooperative Extension will be offering a seminar on “Starting a Family Child Care Business," providing caregivers the tools to develop a successful home-based child-care service. Topics to be discussed include getting started and the requirements for both business and state licensing. The seminar will take place Thursday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. located at the Loudoun Extension Office in Leesburg. The Lansdowne Orthopedic Physical Therapy located near the Loudoun Hospital and Leisure World is now open. The clinic offers physical therapy as well as pilates, yoga, personal training and aquatic therapy. The physical therapists specialize in orthopedic care treating a variety of conditions including: lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder/knee pain, osteoporosis, sport injuries and many other diagnosis. The architectural/engineering team led by Wisnewski Blair and Associates, Ltd., in association with Moody Nolan, Ltd. has been selected as the design team for the eastern Loudoun recreation center to be built in Claude Moore Park in Sterling. Clint Good Architects will provide local and historical design consulting and Potomac Energy Group will serve as the mechanical and electrical engineers.
Drs. Herbst, Mitnick and Monajemy will be providing patient care from their new office located at 21475 Ridgetop Circle, Sterling. The new office is in a three-story medical building approximately one mile from the previous location, visible at the intersection of Route 7 and Loudoun Tech Drive. The current telephone number, 703-444-3710, will not be changing. Patients are asked to continue calling that number to schedule appointments.

Doug Mattice of Mattice Signature Portraits is participating in the National Children's Portrait contest sponsored by Burrell Professional Color Lab in Crown Point, Ind. Mattice Signature Portraits submitted 37 entries. Professional photographers from around the country will judge each entry based on creativity, composition and emotional impact. The results of the contest will be announced July 15 at the Professional Photographers of America National Convention in Atlantic City, N.J.
