Veterans Honored On Memorial Day

Tall Oaks, with the American Veterans Association’s assistance celebrates Armed Forces/Memorial Day with a big party to honor their WW II Veterans. WW II Veteran Joseph Ramsey, Executive Director of the American Verterans National Service Foundation, donated American Flags honoring Civ. Fran Bernstein, Chf. Petty Officer John Dopsovic, Staff Srgt. Harry Erickson, Lt. Col. Benjamin Lafsky, Civ. Martha Kay, Maj. Lee Kerson, Lt. Henry Miller, Pvt. 1st Class Patrick O’Neill, 1st Class Larry Quartarero, Special X Georgia Richmond, Sgt. Baxter Royster, Lt. Commander Fred Sheese, Pvt. 1st Class Daniel Vodola, Lt. Col. Bob Walters, Col. John Walsh. Lt. Col. John Powell, Director of Membership of the American Veterans Association, presented the awards and flags.

Walsh/Aman Engaged

Martin “Art” Walsh and Leslie A. Hoffmann of McLean, Virginia and Stuart, Florida are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Ada-Marie Walsh, to Matthew K. Aman of Oak Hill, Virginia. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Camille Oliver Hoffmann of Naperville, Illinois and the late Paul W. Hoffmann as well as Clare M. Walsh and the late Martin J. Walsh of Fairfax, Virginia.

Ms. Walsh graduated from The Potomac School after attending The Langley School, Marymount Junior School, and St. Luke’s School. She graduated from The College of William and Mary in 1999 and The Law School in 2002. She will work for he Department of Justice, Honors Program, beginning in August.

Mr. Aman, son of Thomas and Sally Aman, graduated from Oakton High School, The College of William and Mary in 1999 and The Law School in 2002. He will accept commission with the Judge Advocate General’s Office of the Army.

A December wedding is planned at the Wren Chapel of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Caitlin and Allison Kelly of Great Falls volunteer on weekends to help Ruth Lyngard at Broad Run Riding School in Midland, Va. Caitlin is on Chief, 1 14-year-old Thoroughbred who can always use extra work. Allison is riding Duchess, a 4-year-old Paint who is still learning what to do. Duchess has only been ridden for three months. Both girls are great with horses and the younger students who take lessons. Caitlin and Allison help groom and assist in teaching.
