Sandra Chelliah and Ton Qui Ho, both graduating seniors of South Lakes High School, were selected for the Reston Hospital Center Medical Staff and Volunteer scholarship as a result of their academic achievements and interest in pursuing healthcare careers. Chelliah will attend Virginia Tech and Ho will attend Northern Virginia Community College.

Lauren Stites of Reston is one of 32 college students selected for this year's American Psychological Association Summer Science Institute. In the nine-day program, students interact with nationally known experts in psychological research, get hands-on lab experience, and meet graduate students in the field. Stites graduated from the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in 2001 and currently attends Grove City College. She was selected from a field of 400-500 applicants.
