<sh>Six Pack Patrol

<bt>Fairfax County Police along with Virginia State Police, Washington Metropolitan Airport Authority Police and Town of Herndon Police conducted a "six pack patrol" operation aimed at reducing DWI accidents in the area of Reston Parkway at Baron Cameron Avenue south to West Ox Road, west to Centreville Road then north to Elden Street in Herndon. Between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., eight motorists were arrested for driving while intoxicated. Additionally, one driver was arrested for refusal to submit to a blood or breath test and narcotics possession and 53 motorists were charged with various traffic offenses.

<sh>House Fire

<bt>Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Deparment units responded to a house fire at 1412 Cuttermill Court on Monday, May 27 at approximately 10:10 p.m. in the Herndon area to find a two-story, single-family home with fire showing from the garage. Three adults inside the home escaped uninjured. The occupants have been displaced. Damage to the home is estimated at $162,000. A second home also received heat damage to the exterior siding, causing $15,000 in damages. The cause of the fire was accidental. Linseed oil rags stored in a plastic bags ignited.
