The United Methodist Women (UMW) organization at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1205 Dolley Madison Blvd. In McLean, will sponsor its largest fundraiser of the year, the annual “Fleatique” – on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church’s fellowship room, Langley Hall. Held every June, this event brings hundreds of people from all over the area together to search for and find bargain glassware, clothing, jewelry, small appliances, furniture, books, toys, athletic equipment, and more. The funds received through this event help the UMW provide financial support to Share, Inc.; McLean-Falls Church Day Care Center; Langley Housing; Stanton Elementary School in Anacostia; Trinity Missionaries; Virginia School of Missions in Blackstone, Easter Seals’ Hearing Aid Program; Prision missions; Operation Smile; and Trinity’s own members who are in need. An opportunity to thank God for the blessings of life found in God’s gift of the world’s animals will be presented at a Service of Thanksgiving on Sunday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLean. Pets under the control of their owner are invited, and worshippers and their pets may share in the service from both inside and outside the church.
