The Capital One Toucan 10K will be held in Vienna Saturday, June 8, starting at 8 a.m. The race will benefit Alternative House, a private, nonprofit organization that provides shelter, food, counseling and referrals for abused, homeless and runaway youth. The race will be held on a USATF-certified course through Vienna’s historic district and scenic W&OD Regional Railroad Park. Pre-race warm-ups begin at 7:40 a.m., led by Evolution Health and Fitness. More than 500 runners are expected, including the run’s honorary chair, U.S. Rep. Tom Davis (R-11th). The entry fee is $20, and includes a T-shirt. Plenty of free parking is available. Runners may register on race day from 6-7:30 a.m. at the finish line near the Caboose on Church Street in Vienna.
