Virginia Commerce Bancorp, Inc., parent company of Virginia Commerce Bank, has set the terms of its offering of shares of common stock to current shareholders on a rights offering basis.
Current holders of the company's stock, $1par value, as of the close of business on June 4, were entitled to purchase 0.0858 newly issued shares of common stock for each share of stock held on the record date, subject to rounding to eliminate fractional shares. The offering price is $24 per share.
The offering is expected to start June 10. The rights will expire on July 26, subject to extension by the board of directors. Any shares not purchased by current common stock shareholders will be available for purchase by other shareholders as of the record date of the oversubscription privilege.
Assuming that all shares other than the additional oversubscription shares are sold, the gross proceeds of the offering will be around $7 million. If all the oversubscription shares are sold, the gross proceeds will be around $8 million.

Arlington-based James Monroe Bank has announced the appointment of Jon. M. Peterson, senior vice president of The Peterson Companies, to their Board of Directors. Peterson has worked in his family's real estate development business since 1986.
