The United Christian Parish of Reston will be moving its Sunday worship services and Sunday school classes to its Redeemer building at 11508 North Shore Drive, next to the Lake Anne Elementary School beginning Sunday, Aug. 4. New worship times beginning Aug. 4 are at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. with child care provided. Sunday school classes for both children and adults will begin at 10 a.m. Holy Communion is celebrated at the 8:45 a.m. service the first Sunday of every month and at the 11 a.m. service every Sunday.

Each second and fourth Saturday during the summer months of June, July and August, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church hosts a free barbecue after its 5 p.m. Saturday service. This service, known as The River, is a contemporary Lutheran worship service with a casual atmosphere and upbeat music. The church is located at the corner of North Shore and Moorings Drive. Moxie's "Get Up and Go Clowning" class for prospective clowns will meet in the Washington Plaza Baptist Church's Plaza Room on Thursday evenings, July 18 through Aug. 29, 7-9 p.m. Clown skills will be taught by professional clowns. The seventh annual "Works Sunday" will take place on Aug. 18. Residents are invited to join 11 Reston and Herndon faith communities during the event. The projects for this year's event include, collecting food for the Treston Interfaith pantry and leading worship services for those in Fairfax County jail, as well as other service projects.
