Laura Galante of Oakton was recently selected to participate in the Students to Leaders Program, which consists of educational workshops in New York and Washington for 80 Italian-American high-school juniors and seniors.
Elizabeth Kata of Mclean High School is one of 45 Virginia high-schoolers chosen to attend this summer’s Virginia Governor’s German Immersion Academy at James Madison University in Harrisonburg. The Virginia Department of Education sponsors six Governor’s Foreign Language Academies each summer where students are nurtured and their language skills cultivated. Participating students were selected through a statewide competition.
