<cal2>The Greenbriar Garden Club will not hold meetings or garden programs during June, July and August so that members may tend their gardens. The next club meeting and garden program will be Monday, Sept. 23.

Garden programs are presented, the fourth Monday of each month (except June, July, August and December), at 7:30 p.m. in the Greenbriar Community Center, 4615 Stringfellow Road, near the corner of Stringfellow Road and Melville Lane, in Chantilly. A wide variety of garden programs were presented, the past year, including: "Orchids — Care, Flowering and Enjoyment Year Round" by guest speaker Paul Knight of Merrifield Garden Center; "Holiday Wreaths for Door or Table" by guest speaker Sue Chamberlain; "Fragrant Gardens" by guest speaker Karen Rexrode of Windy Hill Plant Farm; and "Spring Wildflowers and Birds of the Potomac Valley" by guest speaker Dr. Stanwyn Shetler, Curator Emeritus, Smithsonian Museum of Natural History.

<cal1>THURSDAY/JULY 4

<cal2>Chuck Mauro, author of "The Battle of Chantilly," will sign copies of his book Thursday, July 4, from noon-2 p.m., in the Clifton Town Meeting Hall. The book just won an award from the Fairfax County History Commission. History buffs may also enjoy photos and displays of Clifton's history, at the same time, as the town celebrates the 100th anniversary of its incorporation.

<cal2>The Webb Sanctuary in Clifton will hold a sunrise nature walk, Thursday, July 4, at 6:30 a.m. at 12829 Chestnut Street (off Main Street). The public is welcome. It will be followed by an interfaith worship service at 9 a.m. at the gazebo in the town park. Various Clifton-area churches will participate.

<cal1>FRIDAY/JULY 5

<cal2>This year is the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the town of Clifton. On Friday, July 5, at 10 a.m., a time capsule will be buried in front of the Clifton Town Meeting Hall. From 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., there'll be games and sports activities for the children. Then from 6-8:30 p.m., there'll be a dinner in the park, catered by Chicken Out, and "The Stars Come Out in Clifton" — a music concert featuring jazz, country folk and Clifton's own gospel choir.

Cost is $9, adults and teens 13 and up, and $25/family (two adults with children under 18). RSVP to Kathy Kinter, as soon as possible, at 703-988-9565. Proceeds, after expenses, will go to the Clifton Betterment Association. There will also be historic displays at the Clifton Town Meeting Hall. Attendees may purchase commemorative mugs, $5; posters, $7 each or two/$10; and T-shirts, $10.

<cal2>Take the stage in the Pied Piper Theatre Summer Camps. Camps are available for ages 5-18 and are offered in both Manassas and Woodbridge. Theatre Express! for ages 8-12 is a musical theater day camp which runs for two weeks. Students receive training in acting, improvisation, voice, dance and stage combat in the morning session with a musical-production class in the afternoon.

Footlights and Fairy Tales is a beginning musical-theater experience for ages 5-7. Will Shakespeare's Excellent Adventure and the Murder Mystery Workshop Whodunit? are offered for teens, 13-18.
