David and Dolly Whelan of Great Falls had a week full of graduations. Their son, Christopher, received his Master of Education in Sports Management for Lynchburg College and their daughter, Jennifer, received her Masters in Business Administration from Virginia Tech. One week later, Dolly received a Doctor of Education from the University of Virginia.
Courtney M. Hackman of McLean was one of 470 seniors who received a bachelor of arts degree at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, on May 26. Hackman received a degree in psychology.

Ennis is majoring in government with a minor in environmental studies and is expected to graduate in 2004. Laura Elizabeth Root, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Root of Vienna, has been selected by Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg for honors admission for the fall of 2002. Honors admission is offered to students who apply early and who have an outstanding high-school performance record and SAT scores. She is currently a senior at George C. Marshall High School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and the Science Honor Society.
Jessica L. Anderson recently graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC. Jessica is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Anderson of 914 Riva Ridge Dr. in Great Falls.
Ashleigh M. Roberts recently graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC. Ashleigh is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor S. Roberts of 9521 Leemay St. in Vienna.
Matthew Laszewski of Great Falls recently recieved a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University. Laszewski graduated from Bucknell in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Sabrina Chin, daughter of Wanda and Perry Chin of Great Falls, has been selected by Virginia Tech¹s Dean of Students Office for Orientation Team 2002.
Natalie Ondiak, daughter of Wayne and Susan Ondiak of McLean has won the Teaching Assistant ship Fulbright Grant to Germany. Ondiak is a senior at Wellesley College.
Eric B. Powers, son of Hope and David Powers of McLean graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English graduated from Dartmouth College June 9, 2002.
