Teen Charged with Carjacking

An 18-year-old Fair Oaks girl is being held without bond in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center after being arrested and charged with carjacking, abduction, robbery and malicious wounding. She is Nyquie Renee Hall of 12771 Alder Woods Drive.

According to police, last Thursday, Feb. 21, a 28-year-old Reston woman offered to give a ride to an acquaintance — a 17-year-old Reston girl — and Hall, the acquaintance's friend. When the three arrived at their destination, the Dulles Hyatt Hotel in the 2300 block of Dulles Corner Blvd. in Herndon, the driver got out of the car to let Hall out of the back seat.

However, say police, once Hall got out, she allegedly hit the driver in the head with a wrench. Then, police say the two teen-agers allegedly robbed the victim, drove her to Haymarket in Prince William County and left her on the side of a road.

The victim flagged down a passing car, and the police were then called. The woman was transported to Prince William Hospital where she was treated for a laceration to her head. Meanwhile, police broadcast a lookout for the two suspects, and Reston officers found them — still in the car — in the 11600 block of Plaza America Drive in Reston.

Police took them into custody and charged both girls with the same crimes. Robbery, alone, is punishable by five years to life in prison; malicious wounding carries a penalty of as much as 20 years behind bars, and carjacking, 15 years. Hall has an April 10 court date; the 17-year-old was being held in the Juvenile Detention Center pending the scheduling of her court appearance.
