Walter Perry Maxwell, 70, died Sunday, Feb. 24, at the Hilton Head Medical Center in Hilton Head Island, SC.
Maxwell was born on June 27, 1931 in New Castle, Pa., and moved to Hilton Head Island in 1997 from Potomac.
Maxwell served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at the Naval Photographic Center in Washington, D.C. He was a graduate of Central Technical Institute in Kansas City, Mo., as an electrical engineer. He retired after 30 years from Melpar Division of Raytheon.
Maxwell is survived by his wife, Patricia Rinard Maxwell, two daughters, Alison Maxwell Catalani of Frederick, Md. and Jeannine Maxwell Winkley of Potomac; three sisters and four grandchildren, Tyler Catalani, and Ashley, Amber and Katie Winkley.
A memorial service was held Feb. 27 in Hilton Head, SC.
