<bt>Through March 26, Great Falls United Methodist Church will offer a series of Lenten Services on Tuesday nights from 8-8:45 p.m. in the sanctuary. Reverend Richard Keller has designed these services to be a time of quiet reflection and prayer.

The public is also invited to the regular Tuesday night, 7 p.m., Prayer Meeting in the parlor, led by Dick and Bettey Bruss, followed by the Lenten Service. Great Falls United Methodist Church is located on Georgetown Pike, west of Walker Road and the fire station. For more information, call 703-759-3705.

Thousands of people from the Muslim community in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area will gather to celebrate the close of the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca with a multicultural festival and bazaar on Friday, Feb. 22., at the DC Armory, 2001 East Capitol Street. A canned food drive for the needy will also take place at the prayer celebration. The congregation will gather at 6:45 a.m. for the first prayer and prayers will continue throughout the day. The festival and bazaar begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m.

The sponsors for the event are ADAMS, Dar Al-Hijrah, Masid Muhammed, Manassas Mosque and Dar Al-Noor. Local sponsors are Masjidush-Shura, Howard University Muslim Community, Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations of the Washington D.C. Metro Area, Masjid Al-Islam, Dar-Us-Salaam, DC Council Of MSA's, and Islamic Schools Council of Greater Washington Area.
