Clarendon Alliance threw its 3rd annual Mardi Gras parade last Tuesday, on the eve of Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. The parade attracted a couple thousand people, who lined the streets around Clarendon, watching about 20 different entries, with floats and marchers, and screaming out for beads.
"I think it’s great," said Tom Fairchild, director of the Alliance. "The number of kids who came – it shows there’s something for everyone in Clarendon."
