Nationwide, last year's Feb. 14 saw 36 million boxes of chocolates, 103 million roses and a billion cards being sold in anticipation of making a loved one feel special on Valentine's Day. For many, a singing valentine performed by a barbershop quartet will mean more than a printed heart on colored paper. Crooning tunes such as “You Made Me Love You,” “I Love You Truly” and "Whenever You are in My Arms," a barbershop quartet will harmonize, present a gift and leave the couple with a memory of a Valentine’s Day far outside the ordinary. Cost for the basic performance ranges from $35-$60. In most cases money raised goes to keep barbershop choruses alive and active in the community.
