Betsey Walker, daughter of Randal Walker of Williamsburg and Joan deGarmo of McLean, is an active member of the Baptist Student Union at Lynchburg College, a small private college in Central Virginia. Walker is a 2000 graduate of Langley High School and a international relations major at Lynchburg College.

Sara Rainbolt of Great Falls has been awarded the Franklin E. Tillery Scholarship for the 2002-03 academic year at Mary Washington College. The scholarship is based on superior academic performance and potential for achievement. Rainbolt is the daughter of John and Jan Rainbolt of Sterling and a 1999 graduate of Langley High School.

Michael Snyder, son of Eric and Brenda Snyder of Great Falls, has been selected to play trumpet in the Lynchburg College Wind Ensemble. Snyder is a 2002 graduate of Langley High School and a freshman music major at Lynchburg College in central Virginia.

Amanda Anderson of Great Falls was honored by Susquehanna University as one of its most successful student scholars. She is a sophomore in theater arts and broadcasting at the Pennsylvania university. Miss Anderson is the daughter of John and Bonnie Anderson of Great Falls and graduated from Madeira School High School in 2001.

Bradley N. Primus of McLean accepted membership in The National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The Society is a highly selective, national, non-profit honors organization that recognizes first- and second -year undergraduate students who excel academically. Bradley is the son of Ginger and Wendell Primus and a 2001 graduate of Langley High School. He is majoring in civil engineering at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Jenee Bryan of McLean has enrolled at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. Lipscomb is listed in the top tier of the Best Universities-Master’s institutions.

Peng Wu, daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Lian Wu of McLean is currently serving the Brown University community through the Women's Peer Counselors Program for the 2002-2003 academic year. Wu is a first-semester sophomore at Brown.
