<bt>Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Schanely of Springfield are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Alyssa, to 1st. Lt. Robert Lingler, USMC, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lingler of Elyria, Ohio. The candlelight ceremony took place at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, Md., May 4.
The bride is a 1995 graduate of West Springfield High School and a 1999 graduate of James Madison University. The groom graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1995 and the U.S. Naval Academy in 1999.
The bride wore a chapel-length gown and veil adorned with appliqué lace and rhinestone/pearl beading. The attendants wore periwinkle floor-length gowns. The maid-of-honor was Heather Gonzales and the flower girl was Elizabeth Schnolis. Bridesmaids were Colleen Lingler, Laura Churchill, Renee Darling and Tracy Walsh.
Nicholas Lingler was best man and groomsmen were Bryan Schanely, Kurt Pfeffer, Derek Cedars and Troy Miller. Soloist was Marguerite Scully.
Following the ceremony, the couple walked through an Arch of Swords of 10 naval and marine officers. The wedding guests were escorted to a reception at the Naval Academy Officer's Club by a bagpiper in traditional royal military dress. The newlyweds are currently living in Havelock, N.C., where Alyssa teaches middle school and Rob pilots the AV-8B Harrier at Cherry Point Marine Base.
