The Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) Program is being administered through the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP). The VALET Program is an opportunity for businesses that have firmly established domestic operations and who are committed to international export as an expansion strategy. The program offers a combination of capital resources from the state and professional services from private-sector partners to enhance the international efforts of up to 15 companies per year. Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: 20 employees; established three years, U.S. $2 million in annual sales, U.S. $20,000 commitment toward export trade; and completed international market research. Kelly M. Gower, Leesburg resident and business owner, has been named Rookie of the Year by Valley Financial Group, Inc. of Huntingdon Valley, Penn. The Loudoun County Small Business Development Center has successfully completed its annual fund-raising drive, Champion's Club. Champion's Club is a partnership between the SBDC and the private sector to ensure that the center can provide the full range of free-of-charge services (one-on-one counseling, training workshops, seminars and business resources) demanded by Loudoun County's growing small business community and startup entrepreneurs.
