<lst>The Arlington County Seniors in Action program offers a wide range of activities for seniors 55 and over. Fitness programs include aerobic exercise classes, strength training, walking groups, water aerobics, line dancing, square dancing, tennis, bowling, golf, yoga and Tai Chi. Driver Refresher Course A safe-driving refresher class for seniors, provided by AARP, is scheduled by Walter Reed Senior Action Center, Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. The Office of Senior Adult Programs and Arlington County Adult Education have collaborated in designing computer classes for seniors. A five-class session is available at $25 per class or separate classes at $28 per class. Friday, May 3, is the deadline for seniors to sign up for a trip to New Orleans, La., scheduled for May 20-26. The group will spend six nights in the French Quarter. The trip includes guided tours, a jazz cruise, meals at famous locations and round trip by air. Cost is $1,950 single and $1,510 per person for double-room accommodations. Gunston and Drew Senior Center members are planning a Spring Fling to recognize Older Americans Month on Friday, May 3, at 11 a.m. The event will take place at the Carver Community Center 1415 S. The Arlington Agency on Aging is offering free information sessions, "Ask an Expert," for Arlington residents who are assisting elders or who are nearing retirement themselves. The scheduled topic for Monday, April 29, is "Vision Problems: Some Options." Questions will be fielded on any community resources or issues affecting elders in Arlington. The session will be held at the Department of Human Services building at 3033 Wilson Blvd., in Room 7A, at 6:30 p.m. Free parking is available under the building. Arlington's 25th Annual Law Day will be held on Friday, May 3, at Central Library, 1015 N. Quincy St., from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. U.S. Rep. James P. Moran (D-8th) is the keynote speaker. Arlington County Board chair, Chris Zimmerman, will dedicate Older Americans Day and Month. Two panels of experts will discuss important legal issues for seniors including "Social Security" (morning) and "Understanding Trusts" (afternoon). During lunch, elder-law attorneys will be available to answer general questions. Law Day is sponsored by the Arlington County Bar Association; Legal Services of Northern Virginia; Arlington County Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Resources; Office of Senior Adult Programs; and Arlington County Department of Human Services, Agency on Aging. The Arlington Commission on Aging, a 15-member county board, is seeking individuals who would like to serve on the Commission or any of its committees. The Commission makes recommendations to the Arlington County Board. The committees have been addressing the following issues: housing, transportation, health care, legislation, senior centers, public information and budget. The Commission meets on the third Monday of the month, March-December, and the fourth Monday in January and February, at 9 a.m., with no meeting in August. Commission members are also expected to serve on one or more committees. Time commitment is approximately six-eight hours per month.
