<lst>Join family and friends to celebrate the 185th anniversary of the Second Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 13, from 2-4 p.m., at The Lyceum in Alexandria.
A lecture on "Alexandria: An Overview 1749-1900" will be presented by guest speaker Michael Miller, historian. A piano performance by Nancy Poore Tufts will entertain guests. Refreshments will be served.

<lst>The combined choirs of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Old Presbyterian Meeting House and the First Presbyterian Church in Germantown (Philadelphia) will present Mendelssohn's oratorio Elijah at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Sunday, April 14, starting at 3 p.m. The concert is free. <sh>New Hope Housing's Gala 2002 to Recognize Local Leaders
<bt>New Hope Housing's 2002 Gala will be held Friday, April 12, from 6:30-11 p.m., at The Hilton at Alexandria Mark Center. The Gala 2002's theme is "Cheer for the Home Team". At the 2002 Gala, New Hope Housing will also present its "Good Neighbor Award" to Fannie Mae. The event will feature a reception, dinner, both silent and live auctions, and entertainment by The D.C. <bt>The YMCA Alexandria, 420 E. Monroe Ave. is hosting Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Health Kids Day is a national YMCA event where YMCAs all over the country plan a fun-filled day to celebrate healthy kids and how to keep them that way. There will be booths from local organizations such as the Alexandria Police Department with a child safety demonstration and the Alexandria Fire Department will have their mascot, fire engines, and firehouse booth set up. <sh>Zeta Chi Omega Chapter to Host 45th Annual Cotillion
<bt>Zeta Chi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will host their 45th Annual Cotillion on April 13, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City Hotel from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. The theme of this year's event is Coming of Age in a Changed World. There are 15 debutantes being presented and they come from all over the metropolitan area.
The debutantes have participated in various workshops on career planning, auto maintenance, health care, beauty, and etiquette. The young ladies learn what is expected of them in a variety of social situations and learn basic ballroom dancing.
