Fresh Fields is planning to build a new store, with apartments above, on Duke Street.
Fresh Fields filed an application for a Special Use Permit with the Department of Planning and Zoning earlier this week but the applications will not be heard by the Planning Commission or City Council until the fall.
The store will be located on the southwest corner of Duke Street and Holland Lane, the current site of Trak Auto, an auto parts store; a dry cleaners; a Rite Aid drug store and Paisano's Restaurant.
The whole foods grocery store will have 42,000 square feet of retail space. There will be 129 residential units above the store.
