<lst>The following incidents were reported by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT

Traffic units were called to Route 611/St. Louis Road north of Fox Croft Road, for a single vehicle accident. On arrival they found a 1989 Honda Accord off the eastbound side of the road. The driver, John Pelkofski, 28 years of age from Purcellville, was flown to Washington Hospital Center by Med Star. At last report, Pelkofski was in ICU. The accident is still under investigation but at this time speed is believed to be a factor.

ROBBERY

Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the CVS Drugstore in Sterling Park in reference to a robbery. They arrived and met with a CVS employee who was working at the register at the time of the robbery and could identify the robber. The suspect, Sterling resident Patrick Dante Thornton, 21, was apprehended without incident for the robbery and is being held without bail at the Loudoun County Detention Center.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY

Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to Safeway in Sterling Park in reference to a robbery in progress. The Deputies arrived and met with the store's assistant manager who was at the front of the store at the time of the incident. During the robbery, several customers had approached the assistant manager and said the pharmacy was being robbed. The assistant manager walked to the back of the store to where the pharmacy is located, witnessing the pharmacist's attempt to leap over the counter, pointing towards the pharmacy door. The suspect was seen running down an aisle, through a register lane and exiting through the front door. The pharmacist stated the suspect had approached the pharmacy wearing a black plastic bag, asking for Oxycontin and stated that he had a weapon. When the pharmacist questioned the suspect's identity the suspect began to run. The suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet 3 inches in height with a heavy build. He was last seen fleeing on foot towards the east end of the mall area.
