Steve Artley's work in editorial cartooning twice earned him the "Best Editorial Cartoonist of the Year" award from the Minnesota Newspapers Assoc. In 2009, he took both First and Second Place from the Virginia Press Association and was honored with "Best In Show" award. He went on to take First Place in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
His cartoons are syndicated throughout the U.S. and Canada, appearing in publications such as Newsweek, the Washington Post and The New York Times. Artley's cartoons are regularly included in Charles Brooks' Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year, have been used in trade magazines, and congressional publications, and continue to be published in school text books in the U.S. and internationally.
After taking a year off to develop the Aphelion Arc, a new illustrated anthology series, Artley has resumed his editorial work through Connection Newspapers of Northern Virginia. He's also Creative Director for his own multi-media campaign and design firm in Alexandria, Va.
