‘Spite House’ Author at Hooray for Books!

John Adam Wasowicz will be discussing and signing copies of “Spite House” this Saturday, July 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hooray for Books at 1555 King Street in the heart of Old Town.

Local author John Adam Wasowicz will present and sign his latest mystery for grown-ups, “Spite House.”

Like the previous six books in Wasowicz's Old Town Mysteries series, Spite House is set  in Old Town Alexandria.

When defense attorney Mo Katz agrees to defend Roxie Neele as she stands accused of murdering her neighbor with a poison cupcake, he discovers that Roxie has an ulterior motive: she believes that together, they can use her legal defense to unmask a serial killer hiding in plain sight.

The book takes its title from the "spite house" in which Roxie lives. Also called alley houses, these narrow structures are known for being built to spite the neighbors. Four of them currently stand in Old Town Alexandria.

Hooray for Books! will have copies of “Spite House” available for purchase at the event
