Rooftop dining area for Hank’s Oyster Bar

New locations, soft launches of old favorites, and an event to find your new best friend? It’s a busy month in Alexandria’s food and drink scene. Here’s the rundown.

Hank’s Oyster Bar Opens in New Location

The beloved Hank’s Oyster Bar has opened at 818 N. St. Asaph St., the digs most recently occupied by its sister restaurant, Hank & Mitzi’s. The décor is quintessentially Hank’s, taking cues from its former location on King Street and melding with new styles. And don’t miss the rooftop patio – a perfect place for a nosh and a drink as spring (finally) warms up.

Lavender Moon Cupcakery Launches Soft Opening

Sweet days are here again: After a lengthy closure, Lavender Moon Cupcakery has quietly opened its doors again at 116 S. Royal St. The cupcake shop will operate in a soft-opening phase throughout April (and is also currently hiring staff). Looking to get your carb fix? Be sure to call the shop (703-683-0588) or check social media before heading over to ensure they haven’t sold out.

Come have a pint, pet a dog and maybe even find your new best friend. Look for the adoption event at the brewery’s outdoor space (the inside will be open per usual). 3950 Wheeler Ave.
