The Edison Eagles(16-5) girls basketball faced the Marshall Statesmen (22-6) in the 1st round of the VHSL Class 6 State Championships held at Westfield High School in Chantilly on March 6, the winner advancing to the 2nd round to face the winner of the Colgan HS and Western Branch game. The teams ended the fourth quarter deadlocked at 39-39. In overtime it was all Edison: They would hold Marshall to just two points, while scoring 10 and advancing to the next round with the 49-41 win.
