The Fairfax County Dept. of Transportation will hold a design public hearing on the Route 28 widening project on Monday, Sept. 23. It’s set for 6:30-9 p.m., with a presentation at 7 p.m., at Centreville Elementary, 14330 Green Trails Blvd. in Centreville. Route 28 is being widened to six lanes from the bridge over Bull Run to the Route 28/29 interchange. The project will also include improvements at all signalized intersections, plus a 10-foot-wide, shared-use path on both sides of the road.
