The Westfield Bulldogs (5-0) hosted the Madison Warhawks (4-2) in a Concorde District thriller on Oct. 11.
The Bulldogs would strike first when Noah Kim would score his first of two rushing touchdowns with 1:34 in the 1st quarter. After a successful PAT the scoreboard now had Westfield up 7-0.
On Madison’s ensuing possession, QB Ry Yates would find teammate Brendan Ryka for an 83-yard touchdown reception. A successful PAT evened the score at 7. Later in the quarter Westfield was again back in business when Isaiah Daniels ran in from 65 yards and Westfield now led 14-7. Westfield managed the clock well after Madison failed to run the half out and Noah Kim ran in from 7 yards out for a 3-yard TD. Westfield would go into the half up 21-7.
After a scoreless 3rd quarter , Madison would score with 4:58 to play in the game, pulling the Warhawks to within a touchdown, 21-14. Madison would later get the ball back and threaten in the closing minute and a half of the game, but on 4th down the Bulldogs were able to stop the Warhawks and took over on downs and ran the rest of the clock out. Madison falls to (4-3) (0-1) while Westfield improves to (6-0) (1-0). Madison will host Chantilly (6-0) on 10-18. Westfield will play at Oakton (2-4).
