I just re-read the commentary authored by Ken Plum in the Opinion section of the Connection, Nov. 7-13, 2019. I can appreciate the article from his perspective on the election cycle, but there was one sentence there that gave me pause:
“Political contributions from out-of-state individuals and organizations poured into the state in record amounts.”
Is this really the political system we want, here in Virginia or anywhere? Where those who do not live here can influence? Aren’t we enough?
Why should we accept this?
Thanks for your consideration.
