A 33-year-old Alexandria man is facing a murder charge for the death of Matthew Watson. After consulting with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney, detectives obtained a warrant charging Jerry Alan Harbison with second degree murder. Harbison turned himself in and is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
Watson was found unresponsive in his apartment by officers in the 6600 block of Tower Drive on Feb. 21. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was placed on life-support before he died on Feb. 27.
