At the ViVa Vienna Memorial Day Festival, the James Madison High School Robotics Team shared their 120-pound robot with the public, including answering robotics-related questions. The JMHS Robotics Team of sixty-five (65) students devised game strategies and worked with many components – including electrical circuitry, programmable controllers, motors, pneumatic components, and mechanical parts – in designing and building the Madison robot.
As a result of the Madison students’ hard-work efforts under the guidance of their volunteer coaches and mentors, the JMHS robot qualified for and competed in this year’s FIRST Chesapeake District Championship tournament that was held at the University of Maryland (College Park, Md).
