Week in Vienna: Countdown to None 5K to Benefit Diabetes Research

The fourth annual Countdown to None 5k will be held on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2018. Countdown to None 5k is a healthy lifestyle event hosted by Countdown to None, Inc., a non-profit corporation whose mission is to turn type 1 diabetes into Type None. Celebrating its fourth year, the Countdown to None 5k is known for its post-race pizza, hot chocolate and finisher bells to “ring” in the New Year. The Countdown to None 5K was inspired by three Vienna families with daughters that live with type 1 diabetes. Countdown to None has raised more than $60,000 for life-changing diabetes research such as the artificial pancreas, encapsulation, and cell therapy.

Runners and supporters alike can have a fun, healthy start New Year’s Eve on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2018, 4:30 p.m. at Vienna Caboose on Church Street, Vienna. If you would like more information about the Countdown to None 5K, contact Cassie Jackson, Race Director, at 949-307-4950 or visit the race’s website at https://www.countdowntonone5k.com, Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/countdowntonone5k or registration page at https://admin.chronotrack.com/r/44429.
