While Fairfax City Councilman Jeff Greenfield looks on, Mayor David Meyer (in center, holding award) presents the Virginia Municipal League (VML) Stairway to Success Award to (from left) City Schools Superintendent Phyllis Pajardo and School Board members Carolyn Pitches, Toby Sorensen, Bob Reinsel, Mitch Sutterfield and Jon Buttram. The ceremony was at the start of the Oct. 10 City Council meeting. The VML comprises all the towns, cities and counties in Virginia; and at the recent VML conference in Williamsburg, the City received a gold-level award for supporting early childhood education at the Main Street Child Development Center.
