Mayor Lisa Merkel and the Herndon Town Council proclaimed that the town will annually observe Nov. 11 as Veterans Day. The proclamation that was approved encourages all individuals to honor the day with appropriate events and activities; and requests that all citizens take time to pause in silent tribute to veterans. The proclamation was presented to Bob Thompson, the 1st Vice Commander of the Herndon/Reston American Legion Post 184. All veterans and service members were invited to join the town council and staff for the presentation of the proclamation.
