Kwame Amoah, engineering inspector for the town’s public works department, was given a certificate of appreciation to recognize his more than 17 years of work for the town and for “outstanding contributions to the quality of life in the Herndon community.” Nana Amoah Gyaami Ofori Panin III (Amoah’s Ghanaian name) needed to retire from his position so he can return to his home country of Ghana in West Africa to fulfill his duties as a member of the City of Kumasi Council of Elders in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
