Arlingtonian Charles Drew was one of the scientists honored in the March for Science on April 22. Drew, after whom the Drew Model School is named, was a leader in the science of blood banks in the 1930s and ‘40s.

Arlington residents joined the approximate 30,000 participants who marched for science on April 22. Despite the rain, marchers filed down Constitution Avenue to the Capitol, many of them doctors or students of medicine in white coats.
