Springfield Town Center is one of 15 mall locations across the east coast now offering Amazon’s “Locker” service as a quicker alternative to home delivery of items.

After an Amazon shopper adds a locker location to their list of addresses, they can select it at check out as a delivery option. The purchase is then shipped to the locker and an email is sent to the customer once it arrives.

The shopper then has three business days to pick up their order from the self-service locker.

“To team up with Amazon to offer a first-of-its-kind, multi-location Amazon Locker installation at some of our malls across the east coast is a great milestone in our ongoing commitment to innovation and optimizing the shopper experience for customers – both in-store and online,” Joseph Coradino, CEO of Springfield Town Center’s owner Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, said in a statement.

“We fully embrace the growing intersection of physical and digital retail,” Coradino continued, “and through this program, are expanding our shopper base to welcome new consumers to our properties to rediscover the contemporary retail experience.”
