Local Food Banks Need Milk to Feed the Hungry
Milk is one of the most requested, but least donated items at local food banks. So, Shoppers Food and Pharmacy store employees hope to inspire area residents to donate to the Great American Milk Drive. With $80,000 raised last year, Shoppers and the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association once again invite the community to help feed children nutrient-rich milk. The campaign kicks off April 7 with all stores participating in the milk drive until May 8, 2016.
The Great American Milk Drive is designed to simplify the process of donating milk, a perishable item, so area residents can more easily donate nutritious milk to local families facing hunger. Consumers who make small donations in-store or online at milklife.com/give will help food banks deliver a gallon of milk to a family in need, helping to ensure that all children receive the vital nutrients that milk provides.
