To the Editor:
On June 2012 in a speech at Capitol Hill, the Khalifa of Islam Mirza Masroor Ahmad, worldwide spiritual leader of millions of Ahmadi Muslims stated, “The United States, as the world’s largest power, should play its role in acting with true justice and with such good intentions, as I have described. If it does so then the world will always remember with great admiration your great efforts.”
We are at a remarkable time in history where diplomacy has taken precedence over military action with the Iran Deal. However, with several senators and House members such as Chuck Schumer and Marco Rubio deciding to vote against the deal shows the reality we are in. We are a nation so accustomed to war that we have a hard time accepting anything else. Is peace not always the better path? Why put more lives on the line? Promoting peace abroad will only help to make the world not just a safer place for Americans, but for everybody.
