Fairfax writer Sarah Hamaker took top honors in her category in the Genesis Contest from American Christian Fiction Writers. Since its inception, ACFW’s Genesis Contest has ranked as a high achievement for unpublished authors of Christian fiction.
From among hundreds of entries in this year’s contest, Hamaker’s entry, “The Dark Guest,” was honored as winner in the romantic suspense category at the 2015 ACFW Awards Gala at the Hyatt Regency DFW in Dallas on Sept. 19.
“The Genesis contest generates hundreds, if not thousands, of entries each year in the various categories. Coming out as the first place winner in the romantic suspense category means a lot given the wide breadth of talent this contest represents,” Hamaker said. “I’ve entered the Genesis contest several times before, so it was especially sweet to have taken home the award this year.”
ACFW is devoted to advance Christian fiction, training them in the craft and educating them in the publishing industry. For more information about ACFW and the Genesis Contest, visit www.acfw.com or contact Becky Yauger, ACFW Contests Administrator, at contests@acfw.com.
