Comments from Jennifer Boysko, a few days after she was elected to serve District-86 in Virginia’s House of Delegates:
“I continue to be overwhelmed by the response from the community following this hard fought race. The voters connected with our message and priorities: to improve education, increase economic opportunity for all, to support common-sense transportation solutions and to support women's health. I worked hard reaching out to the voters all year and, on election day, I was heartened to receive such a strong victory. I am so happy to have the opportunity to serve as our State Delegate in the 86th District. We have so much work to do.
“By election day I knew that I had done everything possible. I'd spent the entire year listening to voters. I clearly shared my platform, and my staff and volunteers made certain that our supporters knew how much their vote meant to me. I was so proud of the work we did. Having spoken personally with thousands of voters, I knew that we had the support. I just hoped the voters cared enough to show up at the polls. At the end of the day, I knew that whatever the result of the election, we did all we could.
“I've been working towards this for such a long time, I cannot wait to be sworn in and to begin my service for our community, not only to serve in Richmond, but also to work for my constituents throughout the year.
