Fishburne Military School in Waynesboro, Va. announced Cadet Second Lieutenant Chase Dixon from Vienna as Officer of the Month for October. Dixon is a senior and the son of Mr. Michael Filan and Mrs. Elizabeth McElroy-Filan. Cadet Dixon is the Executive Officer of Alpha Company and is a member of the Key Club.
Officer of the Month is selected by a board of officers from the Offices of the Commandant, JRTOC, Headmaster and Superintendent of the school. An Officer of the Month is selected based upon his academic, military and community achievements throughout the previous month.
The school’s superintendent, Col. Gary R. Morrison (VA) noted, “This young man has shown tremendous growth and leadership potential over the course of the last month. His efforts should serve as an example to all of us that hard work and focus are the true keys to success.”
