To the Editor:
As a resident and parent of Lorton, I have closely followed the candidates campaigning for Mt. Vernon County supervisor. I must admit, I have not been satisfied with the candidates with the exception of Candice Bennett. While the others are evasive in their answers to solve the issues we face in this district, Candice comes across authentic. She is a fresh voice in the campaign who is not afraid to admit she does not have all the answers but is committed to working with the community.
She has already proven her dedication to the community with her impressive resume of volunteer work. In addition, her professional experience as a small business owner sets her apart because she can relate to the challenges facing our district from an economic and planning perspective. Her work experience is a fantastic blend that would suit our district well and I am confident she will use the supervisor's office to better connect our community.
She pledges to make supervisor's office more accessible which is welcome in this district full of energetic, innovative, and passionate residents ready to build a stronger community.
I am excited to learn more about her as the campaign continues and I am very pleased that someone of her stature is running.
