The Alexandria Police Department arrested a 30-year-old Washington D.C. man on March 18 for a robbery that occurred at the 7-11 convenience store located in the 4600 block of Kenmore Avenue on Dec. 11, 2014. He is currently awaiting extradition from Washington D.C.
Around 8:30 p.m., a person approached the store’s checkout counter and handed the clerk money for several items. When the register opened, the person jumped up onto the counter and struggled with the clerk before grabbing cash from the register drawer. The person then fled the scene. The female clerk was not injured.
