To the Editor:
On Sunday, May 31, I heard the Mike Terpak Blues Explosion at the Great Falls Centre Green. I really enjoyed their music and appreciated Roz Drayer 's sponsorship of the evening. What I didn't enjoy were the conversations that persisted throughout the performance. Honestly, the din of voices hummed throughout the concert. People were talking in front of me, to the right of me, to the left of me, and behind me. It was if I was surrounded by a swarm of angry bees. At some points, people in front and to the sides were actually standing up and talking which made seeing the performers a bit challenging. I am older, I have a musician in the family, and I am a retired FCPS teacher. I have preconceived ideas regarding audience behavior. But aren't musicians performing for your listening pleasure? I felt that the audience showed little respect for the musicians and for the people who had come to hear them perform.
