”Biking can make every day a PICNIC!” by Elise Davidson, a fifth-grader at Colin Powell Elementary, wins the Saris Bicycle Poster contest.

Elise Davidson, a fifth-grader from Colin Powell Elementary School, won first prize in the Saris Bicycle Poster contest for the entire state of Virginia. Her first prize included a Schwinn bicycle, helmet and bell. This is the fifth year that Saris has offered this contest, open to all fifth graders across the nation. Each elementary school is allowed to submit only one entry to the Virginia State level for consideration. This year’s theme was #LongfortheRide, in which each young artist was asked to illustrate what they love about bicycling. Davidson’s poster titled, “Biking can make every day a PICNIC!” was declared the winner among many entries across the state. The contest is sponsored by Saris Parking, a company that produces bike parking and other biking infrastructure.
